The first of six new stations being created for the reopened Northumberland Line was granted planning permission on 7 September by Northumberland County Council’s Strategic Planning Committee
SLC Property is supporting Northumberland County Council by submitting and managing the planning applications and associated property aspects.
Rob Smart, Manging Director of SLC Property said; “The planning approval for Ashington Station is an important milestone for the Northumberland Line, which is going to radically improve transport connectivity in the region, improve air quality and much more!

The reopening of the Northumberland Line delivers 18 miles of upgraded track, six new stations, one footbridge, two underpasses and new signal locations. The whole scheme is expected to deliver economic benefits of up to £470m.
The other stations proposed are at Bedlington, Bebside, Newsham, Seaton Delaval and Northumberland Park.
