Background

SLC Property has been instructed to provide a strategic review of the property portfolio, including a review of all leases, strategy for lease renewals moving forward and advice on incorporating property matters into their general procurement procedure.

Services provided

  • Advice on property matters, including lease renewals, property strategy, board report and database of leases / terms.
  • Ongoing negotiations with Network Rail and Private Landlords on negotiating terms for lease renewals.
  • Providing general property advice.
  • Providing an effective property procurement policy.

Key accomplishments

  • Analysis of lease documentation to provide a database of leases to include all pertinent terms to allow efficient management of the property portfolio.
  • Lease renewal negotiations including agreeing Heads of Terms for any upcoming lease renewals.
  • Providing a report for the Board, setting out the position of the property portfolio, including any exposures, imminent liabilities, recommendations to limit any exposures or risks, and identification of opportunities or efficiencies.
  • Conducting a review of the existing procurement policy and producing a property procurement procedure for inclusion in the existing Procurement Policy.
